Social Enterprise
RSM Tenon is a major provider of services to the NHS, GPs, Consultants and other clinical staff. Recognising the need for GPs to create commissioning organisations and the changes to the methods of the delivery of health services – increasing numbers of opportunities for groups of clinicians to offer services directly to their local Primary Care Trusts, Hospitals or Local Authority – we have created a service to help groups of clinicians and other specialists set up and run a social enterprise to take forward their aspirations.
We found that we have many clients with the clinical ambition and expertise necessary for success, but many lacked the business acumen and time to devote to the business side of things. Working in the Social Enterprise and Community Interest Company sector, we saw a tremendous opportunity for those clients to further their clinical aspirations by using these models – they allow a business to be established with a specific focus on serving the community and its shareholders to make a modest but acceptable return.
Our service helps clients to set up the company vehicles, to construct bids that will be attractive and then to help run the companies that will deliver the service, leaving our clients free to concentrate on service delivery.
