RSM Tenon has been awarded the title of “National Firm of the Year” at the British Accountancy Awards 2011.
Collecting the National Firm of the Year award, CEO Andy Raynor said:

Presenting the prize, the judges, including finance directors from Moonpig.com, Unilever and ICAEW, said: "RSM Tenon was a clear winner with a strong approach to making people fundamental to the business. They understand corporate responsibility and its value to the business. The firm punches above its weight and has a huge belief that it will succeed and carve out a powerful market niche."
The firm’s award entry focused on:
- Professionalism – thanks partly to an award-winning in-house training team, and a reinvigorated performance development review system, the firm has instilled an entrepreneurial spirit throughout its workforce.
- Measurable success – the growing quality client based includes recent client wins such as Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Department for International Development, Genus plc, Shire plc and Plusfoods.
- Innovation – the firm has created new products and services such as Tracker, an online financial risk monitoring system, and a new multi-service line corporate finance team.
- People – thanks to its ‘smarter, together’ approach and the benefits and pension packages offered, RSM Tenon is attracting the best employees.
- Responsibility – the firm’s innovative corporate social responsibility programme includes participation of The Prince’s Trust Million Makers challenge, and a “Laptops to Africa” scheme whereby one container-load of cleansed and tested IT equipment is shipped each month to teachers in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Malawi.
The win comes shortly after RSM Tenon launched a petition asking the government to relax tax for entrepreneurs who employ new staff in order to help spur hiring in the economy.
