Richard has over 25 years’ experience in the delivery of risk management, internal audit and advisory services to large organisations (£100m+ turnover) in both the public and corporate sectors here in the UK and overseas.
The first 11 years of Richard’s career saw him working for the UK National Audit Office, with involvement in preparing presentations and reports to the UK Parliament Public Accounts Committee (PAC) as well as working on the audits of many large government bodies including the Home Office, the MoD and the Foreign Office. During this period Richard also lived and worked internationally undertaking secondment to various specialised agencies of the United Nations including UNESCO in France and the FAO and World Food Programme in Italy.
In 1994 Richard joined RSM Tenon and is an Operating Board member and is the Director responsible for a 350 strong Risk Management division which delivers internal audit, fraud investigation, information systems assurance and risk management advisory services to more than 600 large public and corporate sector organisations in the UK as well as to firms and public bodies overseas and in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man.
Over and above this, Richard also heads up RSM International’s Global Risk Management Centre of Excellence as well as the EMEA Centre of Excellence for Risk Management. He is a regular speaker at conferences and commentator for the press on risk management and related issues.
