A Budget for Growth

In the weeks running up to the Budget, the Chancellor declared that this would be a “Budget for Growth, Enterprise and Aspiration" – so was he right?

It was certainly aspirational as much of what George Osborne said today is about the future – but initial reaction was that even short term it was very positive – perhaps too good to be true? We have now analysed all the small print published as part of the Budget and whilst it is true to say that we are still waiting for many consultation documents there doesn't appear to be any hidden traps so far. Admittedly some of the new provisions will not be introduced immediately and it is likely that some reliefs will be cancelled out by increases in tax in other areas but generally this is a good Budget for entrepreneurs and SMEs.
